TAMRA | Adaptive reuse

Nestled in a tranquil village, Tamra—meaning copper in Kannada—is a unique restaurant conceptualized within the ruins of an ancestral house. This humble building, layered with stories of its own, was once a warehouse and a stopover for travelers before transforming into a family home and now a restaurant.

The design weaves together the old and the new, retaining much of the original structure. Some walls remain untouched, preserving their rustic charm, while thoughtful interventions accommodate its new purpose.

Within this dilapidated beauty unfolds a bold yet serene space, enhanced by a lush tropical garden under the shade of the jackfruit tree. Tamra harmonizes the old world charm with modern sensibilities, offering an authentic and immersive experience.
