Morlem Villa | Residential Architecture

The Morlem Villa was thoughtfully designed to embody passive design techniques making the house energy efficient. The west façade showcases a striking brick jaali, which acts as a thermal buffer, minimizing heat gain while allowing filtered light and natural ventilation.

To the south, the staircase and washroom were strategically positioned to shield the interiors from the harsh southern sun, whereas the living room and bedrooms, oriented towards the east and north with large openings, are bathed in natural light.

Location: Morlem, Goa.

Year of completion: 2018
